This series consists of a register from the Suspended Debt Committee as reported to the General Assembly of Ala. of real estate which was claimed by the Branch Bank at Mobile from its debtors. Included are the name of the debtor, the date when the note was due, the amount of the note, and a description of the property claimed and the debt settlement by the Branch Bank. Both land and slaves are described. Up to seventy-six slaves were claimed by the Branch Bank from one debtor. One debtor owed the Branch Bank over $92,000.00 and had to file for bankruptcy. Also included are references to the minute books for more information. The first part of this series contains an index to the information that follows.
